Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at contact@bilingualneuro.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

  1. Request an Appointment. The first step is to request an appointment and complete the form with your information, concerns, and insurance (if applicable).
  2. Insurance preauthorization/cost of the evaluation. After we have your information, we will contact Medicaid (if applicable) to obtain an estimate (if any) of what you will owe. If you do not have Medicaid or will be paying out of pocket, we can provide you with an estimated cost for the evaluation.
  3. Clinical Interview. After we have the estimated cost (if any) for the evaluation, you decide to proceed with the process. We will schedule a clinical interview (typically conducted virtually) where we gather comprehensive information, including your goals or questions that you would like to have answered. The clinical interview typically lasts between 30 and 60 minutes and is conducted virtually.
  4. Evaluation Day. Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start time. After introductions and a review of the testing process, you will return to the waiting area, where you will complete questionnaires. If your child is a minor, we ask you to remain on-site throughout the entirety of the testing session (which typically takes 4-6 hours, depending on the age of your child). We encourage you to bring water and healthy snacks for your child during breaks. We will schedule the virtual feedback session to go over the results of the evaluation during this visit (typically one to two weeks after testing).
  5. Feedback. We schedule a one-hour appointment to address any remaining questions, review testing results, discuss the diagnosis (if applicable), and provide treatment recommendations. You will receive your report about 1-2 business days after your feedback session.

Each evaluation is individualized, so the time varies based on age, referral concerns, and the types of tests needed. Most evaluations are completed over one in-person session lasting several hours each. After testing, we carefully review the results, write a detailed report, and schedule a feedback session to discuss the findings and recommendations. Families typically receive their report within two to three weeks of the final appointment.

We provide neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. Common referral areas include learning difficulties, ADHD, autism spectrum concerns, memory and processing issues, emotional or behavioral challenges, and cognitive changes related to medical or neurological conditions. All evaluations are available in English, Spanish, or a combination of both languages.

Yes — We are an approved Medicaid provider in Colorado. Families with Medicaid can typically use their benefits for evaluation services with no out-of-pocket cost. For other insurance plans, services are currently considered “out of network.” Upon request, families can receive an itemized receipt (superbill) to submit to their insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Please contact us for more information.

The cost of an evaluation depends on the complexity of the case but generally ranges from $2,000 to $4,000. A preliminary estimate is provided when scheduling, and a more accurate quote is discussed after the first appointment. Payment by credit card is accepted.

It’s best to present the day similarly to a school day, as a chance to “show what you know,” rather than a test that can be passed or failed. We encourage your child to get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast. You can reassure them that they will do activities and puzzles to see how they think and learn best.

Yes! Many adults seek evaluations after years of unexplained difficulties. Undergoing an assessment as an adult can be helpful, providing explanations for longstanding challenges, answers to social or workplace difficulties, or a connection to others who also face similar challenges.

We understand that life can get in the way of scheduled appointments. We ask that you provide us with at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Otherwise, you may be charged a cancellation fee.
